I am a child of the seventies and grew up in the 80’s era when MTV meant “music television”. My parents were young enough in the seventies to listen to rock and roll, a.k.a. classic rock. So now you now my music influences: classic rock and the 80’s. Throw in a healthy dose of blues and jazz and I am groovin. Do people still use this word? Anyway, rather than becoming a grumpy old guy who can’t stand these kid’s music today I thought it wise to at least listen to what is out there. In a word, it is crap. Thankfully there is a revival of sorts of what I think is good music. Music, like books are subjective to our opinions. We don’t have to defend our likes or dislikes. Getting back to the subject, I am really appreciating independent artists playing music that they enjoy and not what radio stations/ music studios want us to hear. Here is a visual of what I am listening to through Last.fm. Some of these bands are so fresh and unheard of that they don’t have album covers or promo photos (call me).

If you want to keep up with me or share some new tunes, follow along: Last.fm, The 61, or make me a mixtape at 8Tracks.
