anything/nothing/something/everything
Me

My full name is Christopher J. Denbow. I’ve used the handle “mojodenbow” for over ten years around the Internet, where I’m now perhaps better recognized by it. Now everyone just calls me Chris. I’m in my mid-thirties. I’ve lived in Katy, Texas since mid-2008. Previously, I lived most of my life in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I currently enjoy my work as a freelance photographer and for myself. My images have been featured in magazines and various websites (Lifehacker, Boing Boing, TechCrunch) for promotional purposes. It is an education in marketing, finance and client relations. On the shooting side, I will never stop learning because the best photo I have hasn’t been taken yet.
Before working for myself, I worked in information technology for two Fortune 500 companies and a national bookseller. I analyze client’s business needs and offered solutions, maintained databases and was a project manager for a nation-wide hardware/software rollout. Again, I have much to learn and I am looking forward to it. I enjoy figuring out solutions and creating from nothing.
I have done a fair bit of speaking on topics I’m interested in. Additionally, as a hobby I study the design and implementation of programming languages. Someday I would like to write an e-book and distribute it freely.
Technology aside, my interests are music, food & drink, and culture. I love craft beer, inventive cocktails, Tex-Mex and BBQ. I enjoy cooking and cuisine. In my free time I frequent museums, and I keep up on books and films.
In terms of social ideology, I believe everyone is equal and needs to express it. In terms of faith, I’m a Christian who is far from perfect. Politically, I think no one should serve more than two terms, be fiscally conservative, and cautiously globalist.
I designed and maintain personal websites on my various interests. I write on no particular schedule and about no definite range of topics. My posts range in length from a single sentence to several printed pages. More often than not, I write about technology, culture, music, travel, and ideas, punctuated with accounts of major goings-on in my life. This includes gratuitous articles about my gorgeous daughter.
My personal website has gone through many iterations over the years. Before its incarnation as a weblog, it was a portfolio for my early attempts at photo and graphic design, maintained by hand and updated via FTP. I eventually migrated the site to an early version of Joomla and now WordPress. Updates became more frequent. Subsequently, I’ve tried just about every major blogging software package out there. There’s no practical reason for switching blogging software so often, save that it makes for enjoyable tinkering. I outsource email and instant messaging for the domain to Google Apps.
